Senior Resource Center
Transportation for Seniors and Disabled for medical appointments, dentist, eye doctor, grocery store, personal trips between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Currently there are no fees for Jefferson County residents, but donations are strongly encouraged.
Call 303-235-6972 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to arrange for a ride.
Rides must be scheduled 2-3 (business) days in advance.
Be ready to provide the following information when you call the Senior Resource Center:

Volunteer Driver Services (VDS)

Senior Resource Center 303-235-6941There is no charge for the ride, however, donations are always welcome.
They will provide a ride within any area where there is a volunteer driver available.
They will provide rides to the doctor on occasion, particularly if the person needs an escort to stay with him/her during the appointment.
They will screen riders to match the time of drivers and geographic areas.
Lakewood Rides
A door-to-door transportation service for Lakewood residents who are age 60 and older and those who have disabilities of any age. All mini-buses used in the service are wheelchair accessible.

Lakewood Rides operates Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Cost is determined by the trip.
Trips within Lakewood for individuals:
$3 one way ( boundaries are west city limits, 32nd Ave. on the north, Sheridan Blvd. on the east, Hampden Ave. on the south)
For $4, Lakewood will also transport you:
as far north as 38th Ave
as far east as York St., or University Blvd.
as far south as Quincy
west into GoldenTrips for groups:
to restaurants (age 60 and over) -- free
under age 60-- $1 one way
to grocery stores --$3 round tripWhen you call Lakewood Rides, the dispatcher will ask for :

RTD Options
RTD access-a-Ride program is open to persons with disabilities in these categories:
- Persons unable to board, ride or exit a wheelchair lift-equipped bus.
- Persons who do not have access to an RTD bus with a wheelchair lift.
- Persons whose disability does not allow them to travel to and from the bus stop.

RTD Saturday Shopper provides shopping transportation for seniors who would otherwise have difficulty riding fixed route service or driving. Last year, Saturday Shopper provided over 50,000 rides to shopping facilities.
- Saturday Shopper picks up at senior housing complexes and senior community centers.
- The fare is $1.50 round-trip per person. Saturday Shopper serves groups of ten or more passengers.
- Service is restricted to seniors fifty-five (55) years of age and older.

RTD SeniorRide transports seniors to a variety of cultural, educational and entertainment events, such as ski trips, symphony, restaurants, the Stock Show, museums, musicals, baseball games. seniorRide serves groups of ten or more people. We only offer transportation to the events listed in our online calendar
- SeniorRide shopper and seniorRide special event local fare will be adjusted so that passengers over 65 years of age pay $1.50 roundtrip and passengers under 65 pay $3.00 roundtrip.
- SeniorRide special event regional fares will be adjusted so that passengers over 65 years of age pay $3.75 roundtrip and passengers under 65 years of age pay $7.50 roundtrip.
