Information for Newcomers to JUC |
Many of our newcomers have visited several churches looking
for a community, fellowship, or a place to explore their spirituality.
We're glad you're thinking of visiting us.
Annie Hedberg, our Membership Coordinator, or one of our greeters. will
likely meet you and answer questions when you come in. If you sign our
guestbook, we'll also send you a few copies of our newsletter. |

Our services are about an hour in length, and include
music, hymns, readings, and a sermon.
We do like to invite our first and second time visitors to introduce
themselves, but this is entirely optional. |
We love our singing and music. We have a strong choir
that sings a couple times a month, and often bring in talented guest
musicians.
If you come a few minutes before service, join us for a few hymns in
Morningsong. |

Most children enjoy our Religious Education progam, which
involves a variety of activities. Younger children begin with a Children's
Chapel, led by one of our ministers, followed by age-specific activities.
Occasionally, children participate in the beginning of the adult service.
We also have a nursery for the very young ones.
However, if your child would like to stay with you in the adult service,
this is OK. |
After service, we invite you to join us for coffee hour,
a time for discussion and making friends.
This is a great time to inquire about the many activities we have going
on, and perhaps check the bulletin boards for items that interest you. |

We have many opportunities for getting to know others:
Social Action programs such as Habitat for Humanity house builds, Interfaith
Hospitality Network homeless care are one important area., We also have
numerous classes and ongoing groups.
Generally, childcare is provided at no charge at our activities. |
